OUTREACH COORDINATOR

Location: On-site – Lake Elsinore, field
Schedule: Full-Time, non-exempt (Hours may vary; evenings and weekends, as needed)
Compensation: $29.00 to $34.00 per hour, DOE
Reports To: Program Manager

Position Summary

The Outreach Coordinator is responsible for planning, organizing, and executing all community outreach activities for the Adult Reentry Grant program (ARG). This role ensures The Happier Life Project maintains strong visibility in the community, engages justice-involved individuals, and builds relationships with partners, stakeholders, and governmental representatives. The Outreach Coordinator manages event logistics, staffing assignments, communication channels, scheduling, and related administrative duties.
This role requires experience in marketing, community engagement, event coordination, and social media practices. The Outreach Coordinator models effective engagement strategies, motivates staff to interact confidently with the public, and ensures that outreach events operate smoothly and align with the mission of THLP.

Key Responsibilities

Event Coordination
  • Plan, organize, and coordinate all outreach events, presentations, and community
engagements.
  • Maintain the outreach calendar, event registration, and scheduling of activities.
  • Coordinate event staffing in collaboration with the Program Manager.
  • Serve as the lead point of contact during events to ensure smooth operations, participant engagement, and staff performance.
  • Ensure staff demonstrate professional and welcoming engagement practices with attendees.
Administrative and Operational Duties
  • Create and oversee internal communication channels for outreach events to ensure clear delegation of responsibilities.
  • Assign staff roles related to transportation of supplies, event set up, participant
engagement, and closing activities.
  • Ensure the transportation, packing, and return of supplies, equipment, materials, and outreach supply inventory.
 
  • Responsible for documenting each outreach event in the EHR, ensuring accurate reporting and correct classification of the event in accordance with program requirements.
  • Complete and track event registrations, confirmations, and follow-up communication.
  • Maintain organized records of outreach contacts, partner relationships, and event attendance.
Community Engagement and Partnership Building
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with community partners, stakeholders, and local government agencies.
  • Represent THLP at meetings, community groups, and collaborative events.
  • Identify new outreach opportunities, partnerships, and high-impact engagement strategies.
  • Strengthen THLP’s presence in the community through consistent, positive, and professional outreach.
  • Staff Support and Motivation
  • Motivate staff to be outgoing, confident, and highly engaged during outreach events.
  • Model effective community engagement techniques for staff to follow.
  • Support staff in developing comfort and skill when interacting with participants and attendees.
  • Provide guidance and coaching to strengthen outreach quality and engagement
outcomes.
  • Social Media and Marketing Support
  • Support basic marketing and outreach promotion activities as assigned.
  • Utilize social media knowledge to assist with event promotion, announcements, and public engagement when requested.
  • Collaborate with leadership to identify effective ways to share THLP’s services, events, and success stories.
Tracking and Documentation
  • Track outreach participation, events held, community contacts, and outcomes.
  • Support the Program Manager with outreach-related reports and updates.
Program Responsibilities
  • Attend all outreach events, including evenings and weekends as needed.
  • Participate in team meetings, trainings, and supervision.
  • Support the coordination of resources, logistical needs, and ongoing outreach
improvements.

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum two years of experience in outreach coordination, marketing, community engagement, workforce development, case management, or a related field.
  • Experience engaging justice-involved individuals or vulnerable populations.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Knowledge of event coordination, community networking, and basic marketing
practices.
  • Ability to motivate and support staff during community events.
  • Proficient in electronic documentation and data entry.
  • Valid California driver’s license, reliable transportation, and proof of insurance.
  • Ability to lift approximately 30 pounds and support event setup and breakdown.
  • Ability to work in person with flexibility for evenings or weekends.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Associate degree or higher in marketing, business, communications, human services, or a related field.
  • Bilingual English and Spanish.
  • Lived experience with justice involvement, community engagement, recovery, or
reentry.
  • Knowledge of Medi-Cal, SDOH tools, and community-based practices.

Work Environment

This is an in-person role based at the THLP office, community event locations, partner sites, and public spaces. The Outreach Coordinator must be fully available to attend and support all outreach activities in both office and field settings.
